Make an egg carton flower crown headpiece
The whole family can join in on the fun of making an egg carton flower crown headpiece. It’s a great activity that’s sure to bring out imagination and creativity. These pots make wonderful bespoke gifts for all the plant-lovers in your life - and let’s be honest, who hasn’t turned into a plant loving homebody this year? The best thing about these pots is that you can customise them with craft items you have around your home - think gold leaf, pom poms, glitter, stickers or googly eyes - and the result is the perfect addition to your room or workspace.
Design a floral headpiece using egg cartons.
CUT.
If you look carefully at an empty egg carton, you might see that there are lots of flower-like shapes and ridges (in particular, the parts in between where the eggs sit). Use scissors to cut out those flower shapes from the carton. Any flat parts of the carton - like the lid - are great for cutting out leaf shapes.
PAINT.
Use acrylic paint to paint your flowers and leaves. We used metallic acrylic paint for the ones pictured.
ASSEMBLE.
Once your paint is dry, use a hot glue gun to attach the flowers and leaves to the headband. We assembled our headpiece in an asymmetric way and made sure the base was substantial so that it could support the height.
DECORATE.
Embellish your headpiece with any craft items you have on hand - sequins, pom poms, rhinestones and glitter!
